Crash on Highway 55 in Eagle sends two to hospital, driver charged with felony DUI

EAGLE, Idaho (CBS2) — Eagle Police and Ada County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Highway 55 and East Hill Road area in Eagle on Saturday at approximately 11:38 p.m. for a report of an injury crash involving two vehicles.

Preliminary investigation indicates a gray Kia Sportage driven by a 28-year-old female traveled southbound on Highway 55 when a gray Ford F-150 struck it. The F-150, driven by 35-year-old Ammon Rice, was traveling eastbound on East Hill Road.

Both drivers were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following his release from the hospital, Rice was taken into custody and booked into the Ada County Jail for Felony Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, marking Rice’s third DUI arrest in the past ten years…
