BOISE, Idaho — Internal emails KTVB obtained through a public records request show West Ada School District officials drafted multiple responses to the controversy over a teacher’s “Everyone is Welcome Here” poster. At the same time, a mock podcast in preparation for another podcast revealed administrators suggested the incident was “politically timed.”
The controversy began in February when the district ordered 6th-grade teacher Sarah Inama to remove two inclusive posters from her classroom, including one featuring hands of various skin tones with the message “Everyone is Welcome Here.” District officials claimed the poster violated Policy 401.2, which requires learning environments to be “content neutral.”
