Fourteen acres of Highway 44 in Eagle could soon be a new destination for athletes, community events, shopping and office space.
In early February, the Eagle City Council unanimously approved an application for a rezone to mixed use from McCauley Investments LLC, linked to the McCauley family, who has lived on the property for decades, to develop their parcel south of the intersection with Pinedale Way. The project, developed in conjunction with Dave Yorgason and set to be called Riverbend Commons, will feature an indoor sportsplex up to 100,000 square feet, 16,000 square feet of retail and an 8,600 square foot indoor community event venue for weddings and other special events.
It will also have 32,000 square feet of office space and a yet-to-be-identified drive-thru restaurant. The McCauley’s home, located on the far southeast corner of the property, will stay and could become a bed and breakfast after the couple eventually stops living there…
