BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — CBS2/FOX9 interviewed Boise Mayor Lauren McLean and asked about flying ‘illegal’ flags outside city hall, a proposed change to the planning and zoning code and a police crackdown on smoke/vape shops in city limits.
Flying ‘unlawful’ flags
A pride flag and a ‘Donate Life’ flag fly outside Boise City Hall, violating a new law from the recent legislative session. House Bill 96 bans flags on government property that are not the U.S. flag, an official government entity flag, a state flag, a military branch flag, the POW/MIA flag or an Indian tribe flag.
Idaho’s Attorney General Raul Labrador asked Mayor McLean to comply and remove the flags. In response, her office said, “HB 96 includes neither definitions nor enforcement mechanisms,” and “We will continue to fly the flags currently on display at City Hall.”…
