Middleton School District tightens security after an unauthorized adult accessed schools

MIDDLETON, Idaho — The Middleton School District has implemented new security measures following an incident in which an unauthorized adult gained access to both the middle school and high school with the assistance of students earlier this year.

In a recent letter to parents on April 17, Superintendent Marc Gee revealed that “on multiple occasions” in early March, “an individual impersonating a middle school student, and with the assistance of multiple students, gained access to common spaces” in both school facilities.

According to Gee, the person, identified as a younger adult, “was not violent and did not threaten or interfere with any students,” but was still able to enter the buildings “without being recognized by adult employees.” The Middleton Police Department later apprehended the man on unspecified charges…
