An event in Boise this weekend will highlight the natural resources of a local conservation area at a time when plans are underway to further enhance and protect it.
Celebrating the nature of the Barber Pool Conservation Area, the Idaho Foundation for Parks and Lands will host “Going Wild!” at the Barber Park Education and Events Center, located at 4049 S. Eckert Rd., on Sunday from 12-4 p.m. (Editor’s note: though the event is about the Barber Pool Conservation Area, it will take place in Barber Park, which is located west/downstream of the conservation area.)
Comprising 700 acres in East Boise, and home to more than 300 native species of plants and animals, the conservation area is “one of the largest natural areas dedicated to wildlife in an American capital city,” according to an event flyer.
