BOISE, Idaho — Skiers will be getting an unexpected spring treat as Bogus Basin dusts off its chairlifts for a bonus day of skiing and snowboarding on Saturday. This marks the second time in its 83-year history its opening the slopes in May.
Mountain officials announced Wednesday the recreation area reached a 100-inch base depth on March 20, setting the stage for the late-season opportunity.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the community to the mountain in May,” General Manager Brad Wilson said in a news release. “Bonus days like this showcase what makes Bogus Basin unique – our unwavering commitment as a non-profit to provide accessible mountain recreation for the Treasure Valley community.”…
