West Ada teacher ordered to remove inclusive posters

West Ada School District has been facing major backlash for ordering Lewis and Clark Middle School teacher Sarah Inama to remove posters from her classroom wall, including one stating, “Everyone is welcome here.”

West Ada School District administrators claimed Inama’s poster violated district policy 410.20, which states posters and banners in the classroom must be “content neutral and conducive to a positive learning environment.”

Initially, Inama felt pressured and removed the sign. However, she reconsidered her decision and re-hung the sign, disagreeing with the administration’s orders.
