Nampa man found guilty of attempted child exploitation

Boise, ID (CBS2) — A federal jury in Boise has found William Walls, 52, of Nampa, guilty of three counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a child, Acting U.S. Attorney Justin Whatcott announced. The verdict came after a three-day trial presided over by Senior U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill, which began on May 12 and concluded on May 14.

During the trial, testimony and evidence revealed that Walls used his cellphone to secretly record three female children in the bathroom of his apartment while he was babysitting them. The recordings included footage of one child showering and two others changing clothes.

The charge of attempted sexual exploitation of a child carries a minimum sentence of 15 years and up to life in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a supervised release period ranging from five years to life.
