Hoping to build new elementary, Middleton runs $19.9M bond on upcoming ballot

The Middleton School District hopes to build another elementary school to mitigate overcrowding issues, and a $19.9 million, 20-year bond will appear on May 20’s ballot with the hopes of funding it.

The measure requires a two-thirds majority to pass, and this will be the fifth time that such a proposal has gone up for election since 2018. Three of the failed attempts took place that year, and the most recent was in 2022, when the $54 million bond also included plans for a career and technical education center.
