BOISE, ID – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Walla Walla District has approved a Clean Water Act permit allowing Perpetua Resources Idaho Inc. to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States during the construction phase of the proposed Stibnite Gold Project.
The permit, issued after a multi-year environmental review, authorizes certain construction activities but does not approve or authorize mining itself. According to USACE, the decision followed an extensive evaluation of environmental impacts, including potential effects on streams and wetlands. The agency also consulted with federal and state agencies as well as Tribal governments throughout the review process.
