Boise, ID – Record-breaking heat and dangerous winds are set to impact parts of southwest Idaho and eastern Oregon today, with temperatures soaring into the triple digits and wind gusts hitting 50 mph overnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Boise, a Heat Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. MDT, with afternoon highs ranging from 95 to 102 degrees across the Treasure and Magic Valleys, including Boise, Nampa, Ontario, and Twin Falls. A separate Wind Advisory will take effect at 9 p.m. MDT for Oregon’s Lower Treasure Valley, covering Ontario and Nyssa, where northwest winds may reach 30 mph with higher gusts into early Sunday.
The combination of extreme heat and evening wind surges could strain infrastructure and pose risks to health and travel.
