BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Salvation Army is responding to the the latest United Way ALICE report, which shows 41% of Idaho households are struggling to meet basic needs, by bringing back “Fresh Friday.”
Fresh Friday returns June 6th at the Salvation Army in Boise, and offers free access to fresh, nutrious produce for Ada County residents. The Salvation Army says this community produce market has been running for over five years now, and continues to grow.
“We know that healthy food is often one of the first things to get cut when budgets are tight,” says Major Premek Kramerius, Southern Idaho Coordinator for The Salvation Army. “Fresh Friday is our way of saying: everyone deserves access to healthy food, regardless of their income.”…
