Record Heat is On The Way

CBS2 Boise — High pressure is going to intensify over the west this week and that will trigger a bit of a heat wave starting Monday. Look for sunny skies and highs near 100 degrees. By Tuesday, the hottest air will roll into the valley around the perimeter of the large high that will take over our pattern. This will bring near record heat of 103-105 degrees. While temperatures may begin to back off a bit on Wednesday, it’s still going to be quite hot with highs in the upper 90’s. The pattern is looking hot and dry as we approach the 4th of July. The long range computer models are hinting that a bit of a monsoon flow could move in next week. If this happens, we could see scattered afternoon thunderstorms. But for now, the focus is on a dry scenario through next weekend…
