‘Relentless’: Couple files suit against City of Boise over pickleball noise from Willow Lane courts

Pickleball might be the next big thing in the sports world, but a Boise couple isn’t cheering a court within reach of their home.

On June 9, Patrick Dougherty and Kathleen M. Romito filed suit against the City of Boise over noise from a nearby pickleball court near their home on River Path Lane, located off of State Street near the Willow Lane Athletic Complex. The couple has lived in their home since 2013 and have completed substantial home renovations to accommodate Dougherty’s needs as a wheelchair user after he was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident, which makes it difficult to move.

Idaho’s court repository said the City of Boise has not yet been served with the lawsuit as of June 30…
