Wind storm wreaks havoc, topples trees in Star

STAR, Idaho— A severe windstorm swept through Star, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Trees were toppled at key locations, including City Hall, The Star Riverhouse, and Freedom Park, with many others downed throughout the town.

Mayor Trevor A. Chadwick urged residents to exercise caution and lend a hand to neighbors in need. “If you have a neighbor who needs help with a down tree, do the Star Way and lend a hand. But please be safe and do not work around down wires,” he said.

The mayor also advised residents to avoid the Star Riverwalk Area until city staff can assess the damage. “We don’t want anyone hurt,” he added…
