Bryan Kohberger sentencing set for July 23; What to know ahead of court

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — BOISE, Idaho — Bryan Kohberger is set to be sentenced this week after accepting a plea agreement to avoid the death penalty. Kohberger has admitted to the November 13, 2022, murders of four University of Idaho students: Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Ethan Chapin, and Xana Kernodle.

The sentencing hearing in the case of State v. Kohberger is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. MT on Wednesday, July 23, at the Ada County Courthouse in Boise. The plea agreement, which came as a surprise just weeks before jury selection was set to begin, appears to have split the approval of the four victims’ families.
