Boise’s Oinkari Basque dancers honor heritage through traditional dance

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — BOISE, Idaho — The Oinkari Basque Dancers of Boise are preserving their rich cultural heritage through traditional dance. Known for their quick feet, colorful costumes, and snapping fingers, the dancers are committed to honoring their ancestors and keeping their traditions alive.

Many of the dancers have been learning from their loved ones since childhood. “Just my whole life, basically, I guess when you can walk, you can dance,” said Jaclyn Lasuen, the Oinkari Women’s Dance Director.
