Cherry Lane branch of Meridian Library District will close in August for renovations

BOISE, Idaho — After nearly three decades of serving the community, the Meridian Library’s Cherry Lane branch will close its doors on Saturday, August 9, for major renovations aimed at updating its failing infrastructure and reimagining the space for modern library use.

The building has served as the district’s main branch since opening in 1997, when the city had about 23,000 residents. Meridian now has approximately 140,000 residents, according to Vassil Ivanov, the assistant director at the library.
