EAGLE, Idaho (CBS2) — Schools around the Treasure Valley are opening up for the new school year, with West Ada School District starting tomorrow. With that comes new students and new teachers. But one new teacher is bringing a unique perspective to her students.
Abby Barbey grew up attending West Ada schools from the first day of elementary school to graduation from high school. This includes Eagle Middle School, where she is the new math teacher. Seeing some of the same teachers she saw every day as a student, now as colleagues and equals. Calling it a “full circle moment.”
She knew early on in life she wanted to be a teacher. Having examples to look at, including past teachers she had growing up, to her mom, who was also an educator…
