Idaho man gets 35-to-life sentence for fatally shooting his wife

A Caldwell man may serve the rest of his life in prison for killing his wife.

Francisco Torres-Rodriguez, 41, was sentenced on Aug. 8 to serve at least 35 years and up to life in prison for fatally shooting his wife, 34-year-old Reyna Quintero, in September 2023, the Canyon County Prosecutor’s Office announced Tuesday. Torres-Rodriguez was convicted of first-degree murder by a Canyon County jury in May.

Additionally, Torres-Rodriguez was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and civil penalties, and was served a no-contact order barring him from contacting surviving relatives for 50 years…
