Rock Fire swells to nearly 2.7K acres over weekend

The Rock Fire, which was sparked by lightning last Tuesday night two hours north of Boise, grew to 2,673 acres over the weekend, with the latest updates posted by InciWeb — the Wildland Fire Application Information Portal — on Monday afternoon.

The fire was mapped at 2,336 acres Friday morning.

Though it is still 0% contained, the number of personnel fighting the Valley County blaze has more than doubled since Friday, with 575 individuals from numerous federal, state and local agencies currently deployed.
