Boise VA Medical Center to receive needed improvements, including expanded ER

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — WASHINGTON — The Department of Veterans Affairs announced it will realign an additional $800 million this fiscal year as part of the Veterans Health Administration’s Non-Recurring Maintenance program. This initiative aims to enhance infrastructure at health care facilities to ensure safe and effective patient care.

The additional funding will be used to repair and update aging VA facilities and technology across the nation. Among the facilities set to benefit is the Boise VA Medical Center, which will see several improvements, including an expanded emergency room, replacement of the cath lab and MRI, turnkey construction for operating rooms, installation of a new HVAC system for biomed, replacement of an elevator, and an upgrade to the storm sewer system…
