CVS u-turn: Amidst court dispute, N. End Rite Aid won’t become CVS, after all

CVS Pharmacy and Rite Aid have backtracked on a plan to convert the Rite Aid at 1515 W. State St. in Boise to the CVS brand.

Earlier this summer, BoiseDev reported that Rite Aid would close on July 16th, and reopen the next day as CVS. Signs went up touting the changeover, and CVS applied for a sign permit with the City of Boise and for a beer and wine license with the Idaho State Police.

Now, the store is wrapped in “store closing” and “total inventory blowout” signs, and merchandise is being offered at steep discounts.
