Caldwell passes budget despite animal shelter, railroad funding concerns

In spite of some concerns about the best use of city funds, the City of Caldwell has a new budget for the fiscal year 2026.

The Caldwell City Council approved the budget 5-1 at a meeting earlier this month. Caldwell Council Member Diana Register cast her vote in opposition, raising questions about funding for the West Valley Humane Society and a new railroad quiet zone in the city.
