A familiar face is hoping to get a promotion from the voters of Garden City.
Earlier this year, Garden City City Council Member Bill Jacobs filed to replace longtime Mayor John Evans after he announced his decision not to seek another term after nearly two decades in office. Jacobs, who first won a seat on the council in Garden City in 2021, says his experience for the past four years, his time on the Garden City Urban Renewal Agency board, and his background in business management make him qualified to step into the role of running the small city.
He is running against College of Western Idaho trustee Molly Lenty.
“When it comes to running the city, I am ready on day one,” Jacobs said. “I know the staff, I know the budgets, I know the operations, and I won’t have to learn it from scratch. I know the city, I’ve served it, and I truly feel if you’re going to be the leader of a city, you should first serve it, and I take that to heart.”…
