A stroll up to any intersection with a stoplight in downtown Boise, and you’ve likely heard the repetitive beeping sound emanating from the corner poles. A quick press of the button to try and change the crosswalk sign and, well, you’ve also heard one of the most familiar voices in Ada County. That monotone modulation telling you to “wait” or to “walk” isn’t computer generated.
