Caldwell Police report decrease in reported crashes after increase in patrols, citations

CALDWELL, Idaho (CBS2) — The Caldwell Police Department is responding to public concerns about traffic safety in the area, saying traffic stops are up, citations are up, and crashes are down.

CPD says they have deployed state-of-the-art technology and increased direct patrols in a shift from reactive to proactive policing. Traffic stops are up 126% year-to-date so far, with more than 5,460 stops. Caldwell Police reports arrests and citations are both up as well, 43% and 72% respectively…
