BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Boise State women’s tennis team showcased an impressive performance at the eighth annual Barb Chandler Classic, concluding the three-day event with a remarkable 31-5 record across all singles and doubles matches. The tandems of Masa Viriant/Allison Isaacs, Stella Beldiman/Ella Piron, and Tereza Polakova/Paula Schaefer each claimed titles in their respective draws, leading the Broncos to the top spot in all three categories.
Making their Bronco debuts, Stella Beldiman, Carla Grignac, Allison Isaacs, and Tereza Polakova achieved a perfect 3-0 record in singles. Sophomore Masa Viriant also remained undefeated in singles, while Lorelyz Marruffo, Ella Piron, and Paula Schaefer posted a 2-1 record. Overall, Boise State went 22-3 in singles matches and 9-2 in doubles matches.
“We had a dominant performance across this board this weekend,” said Boise State Women’s Tennis Head Coach Beck Roghaar. “It’s great to bring home three titles and winning 31 matches in a weekend is an impressive figure for our team. I’m most pleased with how our players implemented the things that we have been working on during our training. I felt like we were able to win and learn at the same time. This team has a lot of upside and a lot of room to grow, and we’re excited to continue our upward trajectory.”…
