7’s Hero: Boise couple is battling ALS with positivity and finding reasons to be grateful

BOISE, Idaho — Wade and Jill Houser founded the remarkable Idaho non-profit, The Blessing Bike, in 2018. The organization provided passenger bikes for families with elderly or disabled loved ones.

It was inspired at the time by Jill’s 92-year-old mom, Rosemary. Jill saw a similar bike online and asked Wade for help.

“I asked Wade, is there any way you can consider making something like this?” Jill said. “Lo and behold, Wade made the Blessing Bike, and mom and I rode over 3-thousand miles on it. We went through three sets of tires. We built 144 bikes for other families that went to 22 states. I think it’s one of the biggest joys of our lives to help so many people.”…
