The Spirit of Boise Hot Air Balloon Festival returned for its 33rd year. Although we had some cancellations on Wednesday, August 27th, due to the weather, the rest of the festival was still a success!
The festival was founded in 1991 by Scott Spencer and takes place in Ann Morrison Park. It is a 5-day festival that occurs every year, where families can volunteer to launch their hot air balloons for everyone to see, free of charge. It originally was a part of the river festival. Many people gathered here to witness and celebrate the tradition of the balloon festival. “It’s magical,” a woman with her kids said. “We would come again, but not on Saturday.
