BOISE — Interfaith Sanctuary cleared another appeal hurdle Tuesday, moving the operation closer to opening a 24-hour shelter home to be located on State Street.
After a 10-hour meeting that included several hours of public testimony, Boise City Council ultimately moved to deny the Veterans Park Neighborhood Association’s (VPNA) appeal in a 5-1 vote and, in a separate vote, modified certain conditions placed on Interfaith Sanctuary that were previously recommended by city planning staff.
The pair of decisions resolve a remaining avenue for appeal within city governance that was available to VPNA, providing a resolution that will allow Interfaith Sanctuary to proceed with its expected opening towards the end of the year, over four years after plans for the move were originally submitted to the city…
