A New Record For Casinos Visited in 24 Hours Was Set By Idahoans

Idaho isn’t normally associated with gambling, unless you count driving through one of the many construction zones as a gamble. But thanks to a new world record set by a pair of Idaho friends, the Gem State is now associated with excessive casino visits.

The two men, who are also known for competing together on a reality TV show, set the record a few days ago in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Amazing Race Finalists From Idaho Set New Record for Most Casino Visits in 24 Hours

Joel Strasser is from Kuna, and Garret Smith is from Meridian, Idaho, and the world knows them for winning second place on The Amazing Race season 35 in 2023. The men are military veterans and best friends who lost their season of The Amazing Race by only a few minutes.

Their latest race ended differently, though, as they attempted to beat the world record for the most casinos visited in a 24-hour period. The previous record was 74 casinos, and they were only able to travel between the casinos on foot or by bike and had to enter each casino and place a bet or play a gambling game of some sort at each one.

We know they beat the previous record, though, thanks to a variety of sources (including an email from the sponsor of the attempt casino.org), and videos like the one showing Guinness announcing the win, and that the men made it to an astounding 115 casinos and covered just over 129 miles during the record-setting event…
