A little over a year after the City of Caldwell scrapped its downtown parking meters, a new parking enforcement system is coming to the city’s downtown.
The Caldwell City Council approved two items at its meeting on Monday to support the new system. It approved a change to the city’s downtown parking ordinance to create a three-hour parking zone and a four-hour parking zone, and also approved the purchase of parking enforcement software, which will allow the city’s parking compliance officer to scan plates and issue tickets, Caldwell Planning and Zoning Director Robin Collins told the council.
