Meridian High School student arrested. Police said there were weapons in vehicle

The Meridian Police Department arrested a student Wednesday afternoon after officers responded to a call and said they found weapons in a car in a campus parking lot.

Police and the West Ada School District both said in press releases that there was no threat to the school.

Meridian police received a report from a “concerned citizen” over a student’s activity outside of campus, according to an MPD release. Officers located the student — whose age was not released — in a parking lot after they returned to the school, and made the arrest at about 1 p.m…
