The two Ada County Sheriff’s Office deputies who fired their weapons during a fatal police shooting last year will not face any criminal charges, a county prosecutor has ruled.
Detective Cory Feldman and Deputy Daniel Stradling fired at 43-year-old Star man Lucas Alleman on Oct. 15, 2024, at Optimist Youth Sports Complex in northwest Boise, according to previous reporting and a news release from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. Police were at the scene trying to locate Alleman, who was a suspect in a felony sex crime case; Star police detectives had developed probable cause to arrest Alleman for “lewd conduct of a minor, rape of a minor 16 or 17 years old, forcible penetration of a foreign object, and sexual battery of a minor,” the sheriff’s office said.
“While detectives were with the victim and a family member at the Star Police Department, Alleman called a family member and the victim and told them he had a gun and would kill himself,” the sheriff’s office said. “Earlier that day, Alleman had threatened to kill a different family member. He then told the victim he was at a sports complex located near the 9800 block of West Hill Road in Boise.”…
