The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare’s Family and Community Partnerships division is working with Book It Forward! Idaho and Barnes & Noble to provide books to foster children in the state. The program aims to give each child a book that matches their interests and reading level. Foster families help create wish lists to guide book donations.
From November 1 to December 15, 2025, people in Idaho can donate books at Barnes & Noble stores in Boise and Twin Falls. The stores display wish list books in special areas, making it easier for shoppers to select and donate requested titles. Donated books will be collected, sorted, and delivered to foster families before the holidays.
Two Bookfair events are also planned. The Twin Falls Barnes & Noble will hold an event on November 8 and 9, with story times, children’s activities, and opportunities to donate books.
