The City of Eagle wants to find out exactly what the Orville-Jackson House is worth more than four years after inking the deal on the sale.
The Eagle City Council, under former mayor Jason Pierce, purchased the Great Depression-era Orville Jackson House and its surrounding grounds on Eagle Road for $2.05 million in the summer of 2021. Since then, the city replaced the roof and reinforced the chimney of the house, but it has otherwise sat empty while city officials stayed quiet on any plans to renovate it into a community event space. Meantime, work to build the Olde Park Place extension roadway project on the western end of the property continues.
As repair needs on the home mount and it continues to sit empty, Eagle City Council held a special meeting Wednesday afternoon to examine proposals for the property prepared by a consultant earlier this year and decide on a direction for the future of the property.
