BOISE, Idaho – A thick layer of fog hangs across the Treasure Valley this morning, blanketing highways, neighborhoods, and farmland in a dense, silvery haze. Drivers heading out early will find visibility reduced to less than a quarter mile across portions of Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, and Twin Falls, as a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. MST, according to the National Weather Service in Boise.
The moisture-rich air has created near-freezing fog that can make roads slick and reduce visibility suddenly, especially along I-84 and Highway 20. Officials urge motorists to slow down, use headlights, and allow extra travel time for the morning commute.
