Idaho faces another lawsuit over Medicaid mental health cuts

IDAHO, USA — Idaho is facing another class-action lawsuit over cuts to Medicaid services — this time involving programs that support people with severe mental illnesses.

Access Behavioral Health Services in Boise is one of five health agencies suing the state to halt the discontinuation of several key mental health programs scheduled to end on Dec. 1. Leaders there say the changes will put vulnerable Idahoans at risk.

“That’s the ultimate worry that we all have, is how many of our clients will end up passing away because they could not take care of themselves, medically,” said Laura Scuri, co-owner of Access Behavioral Health Services…
