Avimor took the first steps toward establishing a final resting place for Treasure Valley residents in the foothills last week.
On Tuesday, Avimor got a unanimous vote from Eagle City Council members for approval of zoning of four different large lots nearing 400 acres in the planned community along Highway 55 north of Eagle. This zoning application included designating a 57-acre parcel at the top of a hill on the west side of the highway as open space, which is the first of several steps toward Avimor establishing a cemetery in the planned community.
Avimor General Manager Brad Pfanmuller said there is no timeline yet on when a cemetery could be built and details of how it would be laid out and the number of plots would have to be approved with a later application to Eagle’s Planning & Zoning Commission.
