BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — In a world where digital memories dominate, a group of dedicated volunteers known as the “Thursday Girls” at Handy Hands Reflections is bringing comfort to grieving families through the art of scrapbooking. These volunteers, led by founder Jacki Kelsch, pour their creativity and compassion into crafting personalized memory albums for families who have lost loved ones to tragedy.
“I know the gift that we’re giving is going to help them because looking at memories, those are the last pictures you’re going to have of that person ever,” Kelsch said. The group meticulously selects colors and designs for each page, based on information provided by the deceased’s family or funeral home, ensuring that every album is a unique tribute and treasury that offers a tangible connection to cherished memories.
