Mayor McLean of Boise has proposed an additional $6.7 million investment in affordable housing. She stated that access to affordable housing is important for Boise residents. Since 2020, the city has completed nearly 600 affordable homes. Another 300 homes are under construction with city funding.
If approved, the new funding would increase Boise’s total investment in affordable housing to $68.4 million. Projects such as Wilson Station, The Franklin, and Denton have received support from these investments. The Boise City Council will review the proposal on December 16, 2025.
