If you were wondering whether the winter coat you pulled out of the depths of your closet was finally going to be of some use this weekend — think again.

Boise, and other parts of Southwest Idaho, have seen unseasonably warm temperatures for the past month, Jay Breidenbach, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service, told the Idaho Statesman on Friday. It’s been particularly warm the past few days, with Thursday’s high of 63 degrees tying the 1933 record, according to the National Weather Service.

Typically, the maximum temperature for this time of year would be in the high 30s, Breidenbach said. Right now, the temperatures are 20 or even 30 degrees above normal…
