Ground is being prepped for the valley’s newest Costco, and now plans for additional retail space surrounding the South Meridian warehouse store can begin to move forward.
On Tuesday, the Meridian City Council approved a preliminary plat plan from Boise Developer Brighton Corp. for just over 11 acres of commercial space on Lake Hazel Rd. and Meridian Rd. The plan calls for seven different lots on the west end of the property, ranging from 41,082 to 95,726 square feet in size.
As BoiseDev previously reported, plans for office and residential space are also in the works for the development. However, the retail portion approved on Tuesday is part of Phase 1, and the rest of the project is planned for Phase 2.
Brighton Director of Entitlement Amanda McNutt told the council that Brighton did not know all the users who would set up shop in the development. She also said that one of the users had contacted her, wondering why they were being held up on development.
