Work ordered by the City of Eagle is moving ahead at a subdivision on Highway 44, but will be completed after the city’s deadline.
In June, the Eagle City Council approved a pair of measures granting the Stillwater mixed-use development approvals to move ahead with construction after refusing to extend deadlines for the project in April. The approvals to move ahead with the commercial section of the project included a requirement that the landscape frontage and sidewalk be completed by the fall of this year. The condition also required developer Corey Elitharp to pay a higher surety to cover the cost of a more expensive concrete sidewalk than what he had already paid previously to cover the cost of a temporary asphalt sidewalk and to move shipping containers parked in the middle of the undeveloped section of the project to the side of the property.
As of early December, construction on the sidewalk and berm has progressed, and construction of a second commercial building in the development is underway. City of Eagle spokesperson Laura Williams said construction on the required landscape improvements hasn’t been done, but Elitharp is not facing any consequences from the city…
