Originally published Jan. 1 on KTVB.COMBOISE, Idaho — As Idahoans celebrated the New Year, more than 37 Caldwell Police officers patrolled the streets to keep the community safe, resulting in over 100 traffic stops and 19 arrests.
Between 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day, officers responded to 113 calls for service and conducted 131 traffic stops. According to the Caldwell Police Department (CPD), they arrested eight DUI suspects, three people on warrants or parole violations and six suspects on drug-related charges.
“Despite a significant increase in calls for service, Caldwell Police Department officers remained highly effective throughout one of the busiest nights of the year for law enforcement,” police said in a news release…
