NAMPA Idaho (CBS2) — A Canyon County judge ordered a competency evaluation for Allysen Armenta, a mother accused of injuring her 12-day-old son, moving his body and failing to report his death in December. The mother is scheduled to return to court in February. The baby’s father, who faces the same charges, is set to appear in court on Tuesday for his preliminary hearing and to argue for a bond reduction.
Armenta will next appear in court for a status hearing on Feb. 4. The day after her Jan. 7 appearance, which concluded with a continuation, counsel requested a mental health exam, and the judge granted the motion, ordering competency tests.
