Nampa mother faces competency evaluation in infant death case

NAMPA, Idaho — Allysen Armenta, a Nampa mother accused of several charges related to her son’s death, is now set to face a competency evaluation after the judge in her case ordered it.

Armenta is facing four charges: failure to notify of death, injury to a child, destruction of evidence, and resisting arrest. She had her preliminary hearing, held on Jan. 7, less than a month after her child’s death.
