Little’s proclamation underscores fire safety in Idaho

BOISE — Accidents can happen in a blink of an eye. While fire departments work night and day in order to respond to emergencies and save lives, there are many safety tasks the average person and family can do to avoid having to call 911.

One of the tips mentioned Tuesday was to replace smoke alarms. They do expire.

Gov. Brad Little gave a proclamation Tuesday afternoon inside the Ceremonial Office at the Idaho State Capitol that highlighted Community Risk Reduction Week. The week, according to Meridian Fire Department, is to provide prevention education.
